If you are getting pulled over remember;
You have a right to remain Silent
You have a right not to answer questions an officer asks during a stop, but you still must follow the law. Everything you say can and will be used against you. You will need to show your ID to prove you can operate a Motor Vehicle legally.
You are not required to perform a field sobriety test
An officer will arrest you if they believe you are intoxicated and performing their tests will not prevent it.
You have a right to refuse a breath or blood test, but the officer can get a warrant signed by a judge to get a blood specimen.

Remember, Police officers are now equipped with dash cams and chest cams, so if your case is going to a trial there will be documentation of the entire event. Do not get confrontational with an officer, maintain your rights and request an attorney as well as maintain your right to remain silent. It is the Attorney's job to dissect the case after the fact to determine if any of your rights were violated.

Certain criminal charges can have an added punishment of Family violence. An Affirmative Finding of Family Violence (AFV) can have dire consequences that will affect your rights, affect your employment opportunities, and lead to potential enhancements for subsequent offenses. A judge can make an affirmative finding of family violence in cases such as assault or sexual assault if the evidence shows that a family member was harmed during the commission of a crime.

What are the effects of an AFV finding?
🔹 Loss of your right to bear arms (under both Texas and federal law)
🔹 Loss of the ability to be a managing conservator or joint conservator of a minor child
🔹 Loss of the right to foster or adopt children under Texas law, and
🔹 Dire immigration consequences to individuals who are illegal residents or pending application for residency

It is a crime to possess illegal drugs and the punishment can range from a Class C Misdemeanor to a 1st Degree Felony. While Texas has become more progressive over the years and even passed House Bill 1325 (Consumable H**p Bill), Ma*****na is still illegal. It is illegal to possess the leaf, as well as in the concentrated form of oils. If you are caught with it on your person you could be looking at a criminal charge. While local municipalities may have removed some of the punishments for possessing ma*****na, State law still makes it illegal and punishable.

As well, the Texas Health and Safety Code Section 481.102 lists the Penalty Group 1 Drugs which could lead to Felony charges.

A Notary's duty is to screen the signers of important documents for their true identity, their willingness to sign without duress or intimidation, and their awareness of the contents of the document or transaction. Some notarizations also require the Notary to put the signer under an oath, declaring under penalty of perjury that the information contained in a document is true and correct. Property deeds, wills, and powers of attorney are examples of documents that commonly require a Notary.
