IMPORTANT IMMIGRATION UPDATE – CIUDAD JUÁREZ
We are seeing immigrant visa appointments at the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juárez being cancelled or rescheduled.

These cancellations appear to be part of broader changes as the State Department implements new training and guidance for consular officers. Applicants should be prepared for increased scrutiny, including public charge issues and review of social media and online activity.

If your appointment was cancelled, do not assume there is a problem with your individual case. This appears to be affecting immigrant visa processing broadly.

If you have an upcoming consular interview, check your email and appointment status before traveling. You should also begin reviewing your financial documentation, immigration history, and social media presence before your interview.

Important: Do not provide false information, hide social media accounts, or begin deleting posts simply because you have an immigration interview. Your application, your interview answers, and your online presence should be truthful and consistent.

Immigration policies are changing quickly. Stay informed and seek qualified legal advice when necessary.

A tornado touched down in the San Antonio area Wednesday morning as severe storms moved across the region, prompting warnings and raising concerns about flooding and damaging winds.

The National Weather Service confirmed that the tornado moved through northwest San Antonio Wednesday morning, near the Shavano Park and The Dominion areas, as a line of severe storms swept across the region. The storm tracked northeast toward Leon Springs and Fair Oaks Ranch, while heavy rain and flooding threats continued across the San Antonio area.

The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning around 7:49 a.m. for a radar-indicated tornado near IH10 and Loop 1604. Several eyewitnesses shared pictures and video on social media of the storm near the Rim Shopping Center, where there were scattered reports of damage. The tornado continued moving north through the Fair Oaks area and eventually weakened around Bergheim. So far, no injuries have been reported. The National Weather Service has yet to confirm the wind speeds of the storm.
