If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: never underestimate the power of personal connection in the legal profession.

When I first became a lawyer, I used to think being a good lawyer was all about the sharpest argument, the perfect case law, the airtight brief. And while those things matter — what matters just as much is how you make people feel.

Clients don’t just remember your legal strategy — they remember if you called them back. If you listened. If you saw them when they felt overwhelmed or ignored.

Judges, opposing counsel, colleagues — they all respond to respect, empathy, and real human connection. Relationships built on trust and integrity have opened more doors for me than any resume ever could.

Practicing law with these relationships and empathy in mind has taught me to to discover the truth depths of my clients’ injuries, which allows me to be a stronger advocate for my personal injury clients.

So to my younger self: don’t be afraid to lead with heart. You’re not just practicing law—You’re practicing humanity.

We started our firm on January 16, 2024. After more than a decade of working together in other firms, we finally decided to do it ourselves. We have very much enjoyed taking the lessons we learned in the past and building the dream firm we are now so proud of.
