Celebrating Zane today and who he was in life - happy and sober, humble and confident, in love with life and everyone around him. Beautiful to the core.

5 years has passed in a blink of an eye. We are grateful every day for the time we had, the amazing friends he made and shared, and the memories he gave us.

Gone but not forgotten 🤍

Mr. George Floyd died three years ago in a horrible and unnecessary manner. His last moments on this earth should not have been surrounded by cruel and corrupt officers only looking to show him how powerful they felt hiding behind their badges.

Mr. Floyd’s family. I am sorry for your loss. No words can express how horrible it is but we will not stop remembering.

Back in 2020 the community showed up for a march for Justice in support of Zane James.

What had on many occasions been a fun community march turned into a brutal targeting and beating of Zane’s father, Aaron and older brother, Gabe.

Cottonwood Heights Police brutally assaulted Gabe. He suffered a crushed windpipe, bruises over 30% of his body, a concussion, and other bodily harm.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.

Gabe’s Pre-Trial Justification Hearing is tomorrow, March 31st at 1:00pm at the 450 South State Street, Room S34, Salt Lake City Utah.

Please help pack the courtroom by logging on to the trial tomorrow. We will be posting the web link tomorrow when we have it.

Come join a peaceful protest in memory of Zane in front of the Cottonwood Heights City Hall tomorrow night June 1st at 6 pm.

Zane James is remembered as that person who made your day walking into the same room. His infectious humor and kind heart was taken with his life by a Cottonwood Heights police officer on May 29, 2018. Rather than making a routine arrest, the officer chose to shoot Zane in the back twice without warning. Zane is one of 19 people killed by police officers in Utah in 2018, a state that ranks among the highest in annual police shootings.

The City of Cottonwood Heights and the Police Deparment could have reprimanded this officer for a failure to follow the City’s clear de-escalation policies. Instead, they responsed with a media campaign that mischaractierized Zane and the shooting then gave the officer a public commendation and bonus.

To help the James family continue the fight against police brutality, please donate through Venmo .
