We’re grateful for kind words like these from our clients. ⚖️🌟

A special thank you to our outstanding paralegal, Gennevi Souto, and our top-notch attorney, Ben Ridings, in our Workers’ Compensation Department for the care, communication, and dedication they bring to every case. We’re proud to have a team that works hard to support injured workers when they need it most. 🤝

In observance of Memorial Day, Wallace & Graham will be closed on Monday, May 25.

As we head into the holiday weekend, we join our community in honoring the servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Through our work with Camp Lejeune families, we are often reminded of the deep and lasting impact of military service, sacrifice, and the obligations owed to those who served.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. ❤️🤍💙✨

Recently, our firm lost a valued team member and someone who was very dear to us all: Denise.🪽

Denise celebrated 13 years with the firm this past April. During that time, she became known not only for her dedication and strong work ethic, but also for the genuine care she showed to our clients and everyone around her. Even while facing health challenges, Denise remained committed to her work and continued to put others first.

Her husband shared with us that even in her final days, she remained concerned about her clients and her responsibilities at the firm. At her visitation, her children spoke about how much Denise loved her work and loved her life, which was evident to all who knew her.

Denise’s kindness, reliability, and compassion made a lasting impact on our firm. She will be greatly missed by all of us, both professionally and personally.

We are grateful for the many years we were fortunate enough to work alongside her and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.

It is our pleasure to announce Janiah Finger as another winner of our 2026 W&G Overcoming Adversity scholarship. Janiah will soon be graduating from Salisbury High School and will then enroll at North Carolina Central University in Durham this fall. She plans to major in social work, and then we [selfishly] hope return to Salisbury to put those new skills to work!

Dependable, intentional, dedicated, responsible, persistent. These are just a few of the adjectives used by her recommenders to describe Janiah. Those are exactly the type characteristics we look for in awarding this scholarship, so it's no wonder why we chose her!

Congratulations Janiah! It's truly an honor to have you among our winners!

Wallace and Graham's Charitable Arm, Wallace and Graham Gives had the honor of participating in the 25th Annual John A. Campbell Memorial Golf Classic at the Salisbury Country Club this past Friday.

This charity is near and dear to our firm, as the tournament benefits the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Foundation.

Our team had the best time connecting with members of our community in support of such an important cause. Special thanks to everyone who helped make this tournament possible!

At Wallace and Graham Gives, we are proud to support the incredible educators and staff who make a difference in our community every day.

Our team recently donated 34 gift bags to the teachers at Hurley Elementary School as a small token of appreciation for all that they do. Each bag included gift cards, special treats, and classroom supplies to help brighten their day.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Koco Java Coffee & Roastery for generously donating an additional 5 gift cards, which our team provided to the school’s office staff as well.

We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to those who invest so much into the next generation. 💙

The comedy Peanut Butter Falcon highlights a real-world legal issue. The movie is set in North Carolina and mentions sending the main character, Zack, who has Down Syndrome, to a behavioral health facility in North Carolina after he had previously been living in a nursing home because they had nowhere else to take care of him.

We met with Disability Rights NC to talk about the Timothy B. Litigation, their lawsuit against the NC Department of Health and Human Services for putting kids with disabilities in behavioral health facilities or psychiatric institutions where they do not belong. Their complaint highlights the gravity of the situation, stating "“A recent USA Today investigation uncovered that North Carolina children in foster care ‘were confined to [lockdown psychiatric] facilities round-the-clock despite a clinician determining that it was not medically justified, according to a consultant document and interviews . . . [because] there was nowhere else to put the youngsters. So they locked them away in institutions with strip searches and limited academic programs,’ a common ‘practice [that is] a consequence of the failures in North Carolina’s foster care system.’”

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to stand together for the safety and well-being of children in our community.

This year, Terrie Hess House created a powerful exhibit in downtown Salisbury, using 267 pairs of shoes to represent the number of children affected by abuse or neglect in Rowan County in 2025. Each pair tells a story and is a reminder that these are not just numbers, but real children who deserve protection, support, and a voice.

At Wallace & Graham, we have seen firsthand the lasting impact that child abuse has on survivors and their families. Our team is committed to advocating for victims and holding responsible parties accountable, while supporting efforts that bring awareness and prevention to the forefront.

We commend Terrie Hess House for the vital work they do every day to protect children and support healing in our community.

Continuing with our rollout of the 2026 W&G Overcoming Adversity scholarship winners, we now introduce you to Kenadie Moore!

Kenadie will soon be graduating from Carson High School in China Grove (near the top of her class!), and will then be taking her talents to Chapel Hill to become a Tar Heel like many of our W&G attorneys - including our founding partner, Mona Lisa Wallace!

Kenadie has already been accepted into UNC's renowned nursing program and we selfishly hope she brings that degree back to Salisbury when she's done! But wherever she goes, we know she will do great things, and we are honored to play this small role in her education! Congratulations Kenadie and go Heels!
