Nic Kuvshinoff recently completed a 24-Hour Continuing Legal Education program, the same one that the police take, to get trained in the standardized Field Sobriety Testing that all road cops nationwide perform when they stop suspected drunk drivers. Why take this course? Well, what better way to evaluate whether Field Sobriety Testing was competently performed than to get the training yourself! In preparing a client's case for trial, one of the first steps is to review how the officer performed the Field Sobriety Testing to look for inadequacies that can be used to show that the testing was not performed as required by NHTSA, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the test was not performed properly, then there may be a basis to argue that the testing is invalid. If you have a DUI case, call us to discuss it further.
