Clark, Mize & Linville, Chartered, is pleased to announce that three lawyers have received honors from Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers.

Jessica L. Stoppel and Laurel Driskell have been selected as 2025 Super Lawyers: Rising Stars. The Rising Star honor is awarded to no more than 2.5% of the eligible attorneys in the state of Kansas who are under the age of 40. This is Laurel’s first award. Jessica was also awarded this designation in 2023 and 2024.

Dustin J. Denning has again been peer nominated and selected for inclusion in the 2025 Super Lawyers in the area of medical malpractice defense. Dustin has been selected for this designation since 2019.

Today marks both a joyful and bittersweet moment for our firm as we celebrate the retirement of our longtime legal secretary, Terri Burroughs. For nearly four decades, Terri has been an integral part of our team, our work, and our lives. Grace Lovett Joins CML, Growing its Estate and Elder Law Practice

The Law firm of Clark, Mize & Linville, Chtd., is pleased to announce that Grace P. Lovett recently joined the firm as an associate attorney. Grace is interested in estate planning and elder law.
Originally from Eudora, Kansas, Grace received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Kansas State University in 2022 where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Grace completed her undergraduate degree in three years and obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2025. Grace has spent the past two summers interning at the firm. Grace and her fiancée, Jace Friesen, reside in Abilene.

The firm will be closed on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. to attend services for Aubrey G. Linville, who passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Mr. Linville became a member of the firm in 1967 and practiced with the firm until becoming Of Counsel at the end of 1991. He graduated from law school in 1963 at the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Kansas Law Review. Mr. Linville practiced law with his father, Eugene H. Linville, in the partnership of Linville & Linville in Salina until he became a member of the firm. Mr. Linville was widely regarded as one of the state’s preeminent trial lawyers in his day, and he was a beloved mentor to a generation of younger lawyers in the firm. In addition to his longtime service as President of the firm, Mr. Linville served two terms on the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission and was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1980. Clark, Mize & Linville, Chartered is proud to announce that Laurel A. Driskell has become a shareholder in the firm. Please join us in congratulating her on this achievement! Laurel concentrates her practice in the areas of domestic law and civil litigation. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor degree in English with Distinction and University and Departmental Honors in 2015. She then received her juris doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2018. Laurel has been in private practice since 2018 and joined the firm in 2024. In the community, Laurel is a board member of the Kansas State Board of Indigents’ Defense Services, is on the Salina Downtown Board and the Salina Area United Way Board, is a committee member with the Greater Salina Community Foundation, and is a past president of the Saline-Ottawa County Bar Association. Laurel and her husband, Alex, reside in Salina and are expecting a baby girl in May.
