In the beginning...
When I was young, being an attorney was not a career choice. I dropped out of college back in the mid 80s and after my kids graduated from high school, I went back to Kent State and got my undergraduate degree at the age of 50. I worked for two wonderful attorneys for a couple of years and when they left their firm, I was forced to find a new job. I wasn’t getting good offers from good attorneys so I decided to see if I could get into law school. I took the LSAT and applied to the University of Akron School of Law. I had already decided that if I wasn’t accepted, I was just going to keep job hunting.
In March 2015, I was notified that I had been accepted to start in the fall. I was blown away. I told my husband that I had been accepted and he said well if you got in, you have to go. I began law school in the fall of 2015, worked full time and went to school part time at night and through the summers. There was never a break. In January 2019, I graduated with my JD. In February, I passed the Ohio bar exam first try. In May, I took my oath of office.
I know how to work hard and I’m not afraid. I didn’t grow up at country clubs, I don’t play golf. I work hard and I respect people who trust me with their hard earned money. If you want a lawyer who respects you, here I am.
