Do police actually need *probable cause* to arrest you?

In this video, we break down what “probable cause” really means—and how it can make or break a criminal case. The truth is, if law enforcement didn’t have a valid reason to believe a crime was committed, your rights may have been violated.

Missing a scheduled court appearance can lead to serious consequences.
Depending on the situation, this may include:
• A warrant being issued for your arrest
• Additional charges or penalties

Congratulations Tarpon Springs Outdoor Performance Ensemble on earning your spot at Carnegie Hall! We are proud supporters of these talented musicians!

The TSLCA Wind Ensemble & Wind Symphony have had an unforgettable week in New York City so far! Since arriving Monday, students have explored the city through incredible experiences such as Birdland Jazz Club, Top of the Rock, or The Great Gatsby.

Tuesday they all attended a fantastic masterclass followed by visits to world-renowned museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History. The evening was spent together starting with dinner at Stella 34 Trattoria and a Broadway performance of Hadestown - featuring TSLCA alumnus Emily Frederickson on trombone!

Today included a group photo, a tour of Radio City Music Hall, and time exploring Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, and Central Park. Now, we’re preparing for the highlight of our trip, our performance tonight at 8 PM at Carnegie Hall!

Tomorrow, students will wrap up the journey with visits to Battery Park, a ride on the Staten Island Ferry past the Statue of Liberty, and exploring neighborhoods like Chinatown and Little Italy, or even walking the iconic Brooklyn Bridge - depending on student’s choice and then fly home to Tampa. Stay tuned for more posts as we gather photos from the trip!

Imagine being found not guilty… and the government trying to prosecute you again for the same thing.
That’s exactly what the Double Jeopardy Clause protects against.
One crime. One trial. One verdict.

Many people assume officers must always tell the truth during questioning. In reality, investigators are sometimes legally allowed to use certain deception techniques during an interrogation.

Examples may include:
• Claiming they have evidence they do not actually have
• Suggesting someone else already confessed
• Pressuring a suspect to explain their side of the story

This is one reason criminal defense attorneys often advise people not to answer questions without legal counsel present.
Remaining calm and requesting an attorney before answering questions can help protect your rights.

If you are facing questioning or an investigation in Tampa Bay or anywhere in Florida, early legal guidance matters.
