If you place your online account info in your safe deposit box, make sure your personal representative has access, and if their only access is your estate plan docs, make sure those docs are not in the safe deposit box. If the estate plan docs are in the safe deposit box, and there is no one living that has access (on registered and on file with the bank), then someone one (any interested party) is going to need to open a probate to get a judge to issue an order to open the safe deposit box. Definitely defeats the one of the reasons for having a trust. The best advice is to keep your estate planning docs out of the safe deposit box and somewhere accessible. Place your valuables, including your online account access codes, in the safe deposit box.
