New Hillsborough County Administrative Order issued today. Important aspects as it relates to family law:
1. Courthouse is still physically closed and will be until further order of court, but some hearings may still proceed via teleconferencing, audiovisual conferencing, or submission of written motions and responses.
2. Time-Sharing and Parental Responsibility Orders shall continue to be followed. Any modification needs to be in writing between the parties (e-mail or text is fine).
3. Time-sharing exchanges that typically occurred at schools shall now be modified to a place the parties agree, or if the parties cannot agree, to a grocery store, home improvement store, or pharmacy that is located closest to the school or daycare as shown by google maps or apple maps.
4. Supervised Visitation At the Children's Justice Center (CJC) is suspended until further order, the Court may determine make-up time-sharing at a later time.
5. Emergency Motions - should be reserved where a true emergency exists (i.e. a child is threatened with physical harm or is about to be improperly removed from the state). The court may require a sworn statement or response from the other parent before setting a teleconference or video hearing and may just rule on the Motion and Response.
