Jen had a blast talking to a group of high school seniors at Jefferson HS in Bloomington last week about and !

Some of the takeaway advice she gave them:
-In college, you don’t have to be prelaw; instead, learn to think critically and write well.
-Lawyers are highly specialized, but the path to all those specialties is the same (the LSAT, law school, and the bar exam).

The bar exam is the huge test that lawyers must pass in order to practice. So why are some critics calling for it to be abolished?

Studies like this one find that law grads need to study a shocking amount of hours per week to pass the bar exam - even after three grueling years of law school.

A study looking at thousands of New York bar examinees highlights the factors that correlate to higher pass rates, such as studying at least 40 hours a week, and those that correlate to lower pass rates, such as poor time management.

It's that time of the year again....law school graduation time! Some schools are even going to let the graduates break out their cap and gown and attend in-person graduation ceremonies.

No matter how you get to celebrate your graduation, let us be among the first to say "Congratulations!"

This year's law school commencement season is shaping up to be a mix of in-person and virtual ceremonies, with many schools experimenting with elements of both.

The California bar exam is notoriously hard! The results from the February CA exam were released Friday, with 37.2% passing.

Today the State Bar released results of the February 2021 California Bar Exam and announced that 1,151 people (37.2 percent of applicants) passed the General Bar Exam. This pass rate represents an increase of 10.4 percentage points, or nearly 39 percent, from the February 2020 General Bar Exam pass....
