Irene Arriola Real Estate - ONE Sotheby's International Realty

Irene Arriola Real Estate - ONE Sotheby's International Realty St Augustine Real Estate Business IRENE ARRIOLA has practiced real estate full-time in St Augustine and St Johns County for over 21 years.

From the outset she recognized the unique aspects and free-spirited nature of the area, and so associated herself with independent owned and operated firms like ONE Sotheby's International Realty that had the flexibility and imagination to meet the challenges of providing top-notch services for such a community and its consumers. The result of this personal business plan has consistently placed Ir

ene among the top five producers in the county. Her marketing skills have put her services and her properties at the top of nearly everyone's list, and her talent for turning a phrase and bringing descriptions to vibrant life has taken print advertising to the level of art. Not one to take without giving back, Irene is generous with her community service. She provides the Council on Aging with pro-bono representation on a regular basis. From time to time she acts as Realtor for the City of St Augustine as well. She is also Secretary for the St Johns Housing Partnership. In addition, she pens the popular Downtown Neighbors column for the St Augustine Record. Irene has been chosen by her community Realtor of the Year three times, and her proudest achievement remains the O.E. Barnes Humanitarian Service Award presented by her peers. Irene has the distinct honor of being chosen ten times by the residents of St. Augustine as a “Five Star Real Estate Professional.” Respondents were asked to consider real estate agents they knew through personal experience and to evaluate them based on the following criteria: Customer service, direct and honest communication, finding the "perfect" home, integrity, effective negotiation skills, marketing efforts, industry and market knowledge, dedication and overall satisfaction. These are, in fact, the suite of skills that Irene has become widely known for commanding. The daughter of a former ballerina with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and of a journalist with El Dia in Mexico City, Irene has spent much of her life immersed in music, dance, poetry and prose. Married to a musician and songwriter, she also acts as his agent and creative muse.

Today, we celebrate our best friends; the goofy ones, the gentle ones, the couch potatoes, the zoomie experts, and all the wonderfully unique personalities that make dogs so darn special. 🐶

For more than five years, working alongside DogTown USA St. Augustine has given the team behind Swamp Haven a front-row seat to just how multifaceted the dog world really is. What began with rehoming a few owner surrenders grew into helping other rescues house, socialize, and find homes for their adoptable dogs.

And somewhere along the way, they fell head-over-paws in love with helping dogs who needed it most.

That passion has now become Swamp Haven, a local rescue dedicated to pulling dogs in dire need from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia simply because there is no space for them.

Their years of experience in the boarding industry have given them something incredibly valuable: the ability to understand that every dog is different. Every personality, every quirk, every need. That knowledge helps Swamp Haven find the right match and place each dog in the home where they can truly thrive.

Their mission is simple: "Adopt Happiness".

This National Dog Day, let’s celebrate the dogs who bring us unconditional love, endless laughs, and a whole lot of happiness.

And if you’re ready to add a four-legged family member to your life, please adopt or start by fostering, don’t shop. There are so many wonderful dogs waiting for their person.

Because dogs aren’t just pets, they're family.🐾❤️

Learn more about Swamp Haven, the dogs waiting for their forever homes, and how YOU can help at swamphaven.org.

🚲 Wheelman: An Evening with Keith Pariani
📅 Thursday, August 27 | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Join the Lightner Museum for an evening with St. Augustine bicycle aficionado Keith Pariani as he shares the remarkable story of his recent cycling journey from the Henry Ford Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan, to Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

Pariani traveled alongside five fellow cyclists, all members of a group called the Wheelmen. This monumental ride, the 2026 Golden Jubilee Tour, commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Bicentennial 1976 Highwheel Tour, a similar journey completed by 27 Wheelmen members in 1976. Each cyclist rode an authentic 1880s high wheel bicycle. Keith rode a 56-inch Victor High Wheel bicycle built in 1889, which he has owned for more than 40 years.

The Wheelmen departed from Dearborn on June 21 and arrived in Philadelphia on July 3, completing the grueling 775 miles in just 13 days.

Through stories, photographs, and firsthand reflections, Keith will recount the triumphs, challenges, and unforgettable moments of riding a 19th-century bicycle across modern America. Following the presentation and Q&A, guests will have the opportunity to explore Riding High! Vintage Bicycles from the Keith Pariani Collection, the Lightner Museum’s exhibition showcasing Keith’s remarkable collection of antique bicycles and cycling memorabilia.

$20 per person | $10 Lightner Museum Members
Members must login using their member account to receive the discounted price.

This program will begin in the front lobby of the museum. Guests should enter the building through the side courtyard located on Granada Street. Light refreshments will be served.

Following sold out shows for the "Sound of Music", the Limelight Theatre is hosting special-event productions of "Next to Normal" from August 13-30 in the Matuza Black Box Theatre.

Produced by Jessica and Jimmy Alexander, "Next to Normal" is an emotional powerhouse of a rock musical about a family trying to take care of themselves and each other.

The story centers around Diana Goodman, a suburban mother diagnosed bipolar with delusional episodes, grappling with the effects on herself, her husband, and her two children.

It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, an honor very few musicals have ever achieved, recognized for its tackling deeply complex themes rarely addressed so directly in musical theatre. It bravely explores mental illness, grief, trauma, and the nuances of family life with emotional honesty.

The show was nominated for eleven Tony Awards and won three. Next to Normal is a profoundly human story of struggle, perseverance and hope!
