Dreams and/or Wishes: My first and foremost hope is that I will be physically reunited with my family. Then after spending a great deal of time with family and friends, I would like to follow my dream of sailing the world, exploring other cultures and becoming a writer on some capacity.
A bit about yourself you'd like possible pen pals to know: I'm looking for friends and meaningful conversation. The beautiful thing about meaning, when used in that context, is that we are each the author of what is meaningful, so feel free to write about what matters to you. I grew up on a horse farm with my parents and sister in rural Pennsylvania. Much of my time was spent with my grandparents on their beef farm and a strong family bond was formed which continues to this day. As a teen, I became interested in search and rescue and had a dream of joining the Marines. I set aside that dream to attend a technical school and pursue a more stable career in Informational Technology and cultivate the relationship with my girlfriend at the time. After graduating and working in the field for a while, I realised how incompatible we really were. We split up and I joined the Marines. I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 and upon returning home, I rushed into a relationship which ended in divorce about a year and a half later. The woman I was dating when I was arrested was able to move on and find happiness with a good friend of mine. I know I've spent a lot of time on romantic relationships, but that is what was important to me during those years. Now my priorities are slightly different and I'm more looking for people headed in similar directions! If I happen to find a woman going in close to the same and it turns into more, I would be fine with that, but it's not a priority.
