What a difference a day makes! From 108 degree heat indexes this weekend down to the 60’s and rainy most of the week. It reminded me of shore vacations when my 4 boys were little and if it rained, everyone packed into the Point Pleasant Aquarium or Barnacle Bill’s Arcade. Or, the kids would find a house on the Lavallette boardwalk with a big sand lawn and play wiffle ball (the homeowners got a kick out of it) or go crabbing at the bay beach or fishing off the pier. Then their Dad would take them to the early bird specials at the water park in Seaside Heights and give Mom a heart attack on those darn go-carts. They HAD to crash into each other even though the sign said. “NO BUMPING” 🙄 Then we’d go on the rides at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, eat Kohr’s custard and win lots of candy & stuffed animals (playing basketball, the wheel, and shoot water guns at the clowns ‘til the balloon burst. Sometimes we’d have an extra kid or two staying with us. Fun times - even when it rained.
