FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS-
RUSTON-
Ruston is getting an early start on the celebrations with a community fireworks show on Thursday, July 3, at Temple Baptist Church. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, this family-friendly event is free and open to everyone. The show begins at 8:30 PM (or when it gets dark) on Temple’s campus, so bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your favorite people for a relaxed evening under the stars. It’s a simple and special way to kick off the holiday weekend in Ruston.
Downtown Monroe-
Downtown Monroe is the place to be on Saturday, July 5, for the 5th Annual Block Party. Kick things off early with the Firecracker 5K & 1K Fun Run at 7:30 AM, then stick around for The Good Daze Block Party at 10 AM in Art Alley. Starting at 11 AM, head to Desiard Street for Bayou Quest and enjoy live music, vendors, and more. The fun continues with a downtown pub crawl from 5–9 PM, leading right into the main event — the Downtown Block Party at River Market starting at 7 PM and fireworks on the river at 9 PM. Pro-tip: grab a ticket to see the fireworks from the Star Bar at the Hotel Monroe. It’s a full day of music, movement, and celebration right in the heart of Monroe.
Downtown West Monroe-
Downtown West Monroe is bringing the fun this Saturday, July 5, with a full day of food, music, and fireworks. Food trucks will be set up in Alley Park from 11 AM to 9 PM, and the hot dog eating contest kicks off at 5:45 PM with a $1,000 prize up for grabs. Live music from the Gin Mobsters starts at 7 PM, and the fireworks show begins at 9 PM, shot from the Endom Bridge and visible from both West Monroe and Monroe. Be sure to check out the DAR Flag Garden on display July 3–6 at the corner of Natchitoches and Cotton Street — a beautiful tribute to our veterans.
FarmervillE-
Fireworks Over Lake D’Arbonne returns to Farmerville on Friday, July 5, lighting up the sky around 9 PM thanks to the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce and a long list of generous local sponsors. Fireworks will launch from the end of Ramp Road, just across from D’Arbonne Motel — and whether you’re watching from your boat out on the lake or stretched out on a blanket along the shoreline, it’s guaranteed to be a beautiful show. This annual event brings out residents, neighbors, and visitors alike for a night of celebration and small-town magic under the stars.
