Special Agents with ASP's Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a fatal officer‑involved shooting that occurred on Monday, April 6, 2026, in Logan County.

The incident occurred after a Booneville Police Department (BPD) officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling on State Highway 23. The driver failed to comply and fled southbound, prompting a pursuit that was stopped with a rolling block maneuver executed by BPD officers.

The suspect, Gary Blaylock, 45, exited the vehicle brandishing a firearm and an ASP Trooper and BPD officer discharged their service weapons, striking Blaylock, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
