You're in love with someone from another country. You've both agreed the US is where you want to enjoy your lives together (with hopefully many trips abroad!) You're both wondering which is best immigration-wise, get married in your lover's home country and petition for a spousal visa or apply for a fiance visa and then adjust status in the US?
Like most immigration questions the answer depends on your individual situation. In general though, if you haven't married yet your visa fees will be lower and the approval process is generally easier if you apply for a fiance visa and then petition for adjustment of status after you marry in the US. This is mostly because the amount of evidence needed to show the relationship is real is lower for a fiance relationship than a marriage.
