Due to some unavoidable repairs in the office, staff in-office hours will vary this week. (May 26-29) If you have an in-person appointment scheduled on one of these days, staff will be calling to change your appointment to a phone or virtual appointment. We apologize for the inconvenience, as these issues have created many obstacles for us as well. We will have staff working regular hours , however, we cannot open the building to the public yet.

From Sherry:

March is National Social Worker month! As a former social worker myself, I understand the challenges they face….the dire situations, the system that often fails, the “you can’t make this stuff up” scenarios, the secondary trauma.

But I also understand the impact they make…the children saved from abuse, the families reunified, the advocacy for social justice, the systematic changes in communities, families, and individuals, and the small victories everyday.

Being a social worker is not for the weak at heart. It takes strength, compassion, empathy, passion for what you do, and fearlessness.

If you know a social worker, buy them a cup of coffee, or show them some gratitude. They are often our unsung hero’s.
