I just saw a post on my local town's Facebook group asking for a mobile notary. Notaries were coming out of the woodwork saying they would do it for $10. I sure hope those $10 notaries know the difference between an acknowledgment and a jurat.

I charge a modest travel fee to go anywhere within Rockwall County, plus the state-allowed notarial fees. As an educated notary for over 20 years, I know what I am doing and I will notarize your documents properly the FIRST time.

Some documents, such as Wills, require extra care and knowledge when notarizing. Wills require an important and legally mandated verbal ceremony prior to notarization, and I would wager that 95% of most Texas notaries don't know that.

Sometimes the cheapest or free notary is not the best option for your important documents.

This came to my inbox today. I haven't been a member of NNA since 2005, but I have purchased background checks from them in the past so I am on their mailing list.
