We are returning to the Town of Ashland! After a number of years without an office location in the Town, we are excited to announce that we will be opening a new location on April 1st on the second floor of the old Cross Bros. Grocery (now Ashland Meat Company). We have deep roots in the Town. In the late 1940s, H. Grayson Johnson started his watchmaking business in the Town. Later, in the early 1970s and after graduating from college at Randolph Macon, serving in the Navy, and Law School, his son, Grayson S. Johnson, started his law practice in the Town. He also met his wife, Revere, in the Town while she was managing a local bank branch. Ultimately, their youngest son, Christopher C. Johnson, joined the firm and now manages it. Over the years, Grayson S. Johnson had several partners, but for the longest period the firm was Johnson & Gilman. When Larry Gilman became the Hanover Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Judge, the office location in Ashland ultimately closed. In a full circle turn of events, we are pleased to announce that Shannon O. Hoehl, Esq. is joining the firm as of April 1st. Shannon was Larry’s successor as Judge of the Hanover Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, but after her many years of service decided to enter private practice. Prior to her judicial service, she was Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney for Hanover County. Ashland has a long history of great law practices, and we are thrilled to return. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, and we look forward to seeing you around the Center of the Universe!
Clarification: We will still have our Rockville and Goochland Courthouse locations as well.
