Ethridge Quinn is excited to announce that as of January 1, 2022 Margaret 'Mimi' Teahan and Morgan Wheeler have been added as partners!

Prior to joining Ethridge Quinn in 2017, Mimi was a career public defender. Since joining Ethridge Quinn, Mimi has focused on the areas of criminal defense, family law, and traffic citations.

Morgan has been with Ethridge Quinn since 2014, where she started as a law clerk. Her practice areas include family law, civil litigation, and criminal defense.

At the Frederick County Bar Association holiday party, the Young Lawyers Section gave out their “Mentorship” award. This award recognizes a member of the BAFC who exemplifies the following criteria in his/her service in the Frederick County legal community:

1) Serves as a role model to young lawyers in the community;
2) Fosters the development of young lawyers;
3) Demonstrates significant interest in contributing to the advancement of younger members of the legal profession.

This year, our own Mimi Teahan, won the award! According to the YLS, she was nominated by multiple people

On the afternoon of December 2, 2021, Kathleen Dumais was sworn in as Associate Judge for the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. Kathleen was with Ethridge Quinn from 1989 through 1996, and from 2011 until 2021. She was a long admired attorney with the firm, where her practice included complex divorce and custody matters, domestic violence protective order cases, service as a court-appointed Best Interest Attorney for children in custody disputes, and being a wonderful role model and steadying presence, all while serving Montgomery County and the State in the Maryland legislature at the same time.

Kathleen’s work was regularly noticed by the community and formally in consumer and business publications. She was included in the “Top Divorce Lawyers” article in Bethesda Magazine for most of the past 15 years. For the past 20 years she has often been named as one of the top 50 divorce lawyers in the Washington Metropolitan area by the Washingtonian Magazine and was named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 2005, 2007 and 2009 by the Daily Record and is now a member of the Daily Record’s “Circle of Excellence.”

Kathleen will be missed greatly by Ethridge Quinn but she is a great addition to the Montgomery County Bench. Ethridge Quinn’s loss is Montgomery County’s gain. Congratulations Judge Dumais!

Ethridge Quinn was proud to contribute to the 2021 Turkey Distribution through Poor Roberts Mission. This cause was able to provide a wonderful Thanksgiving for more than 72,000 residents in the DMV.

Ethridge Quinn's Del. Kathleen Dumais has been appointed to be a Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge by Gov. Lawrence J. Hogan Jr.

She will be greatly missed but we are so happy for her!

Ethridge Quinn is excited to announce that associate attorney Janna A. Sakla has joined the firm!

Janna joined Ethridge Quinn after working for the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office for 4 years. Prior to working there, she completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Mary Beth McCormick in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Maryland, Janna graduated from Damascus High School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland College Park. Janna earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

Janna is licensed to practice law in the State Courts of Maryland and in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association. Janna participated in Montgomery County Inns of Court between 2017-2018, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. Janna enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, dog and extended family and friends in her free time.
