I came across this bereavement support group for the 65 and younger crowd that I thought I’d share. It’s split up by age group. Thought it would be nice to share because it’s not as common to find a group for young widows and widowers, though there are plenty of you out there. Based on Long Island, but Zoom available.

Grief Support for young woman and men with loss of a loved one, spouse or partner, we cover all of Long Island

What a beautiful explanation of grief.

Until I had a pet of my own, I didn’t understand why people made plans for their pets in their Wills that consisted more than who would take them after. Now I do. This is a great post for dog parents (I don’t know if cats understand what dogs do, but I know my dog is definitely part human). Dogs need to say goodbye or they will feel abandoned and keep looking for you. Let them, or make sure someone knows to let them say goodbye. The comments in the post are worth a read, too. This was eye opening for me. My brother’s dog kept looking for my mom for a long time after she passed until he passed a short time later (in the same year). He must have thought she stopped coming to visit. I can’t imagine how hard he would have taken it if she lived with him.

Grief is very hard to explain. You don’t owe anyone an explanation, but you do want an idea as to how you might be able to work through some of the hardest days yourself. Here is one idea.

I saw this little tidbit on “Story Reel” and thought it was worth sharing. The link was one of those I had to scroll a bunch to get the full info, so I screenshot the article. Enjoy this little piece of history about potbellied window frames.
