Great news! The Farmers Market Permit Act SB3838 passed the Senate unanimously! This bill creates fair and consistent regulations that will allow farmers to more easily sell their meat, eggs, dairy, and frozen foods at farmers markets. Which means more access to delicious local food for you!

Many thanks to the incredible work of Senator Dave Koehler to move this bill forward, and our partners at Illinois Farmers Market Association, Illinois Farm Bureau, and The Illinois Environmental Council

The bill now moves to the House where Tom Bennett for State Representative, 106 District will take the lead!
