Jill Frieders was named a Super Lawyer again in 2023! She is a partner at Frieders & Kuhn- Attorneys At Law, where she focuses her practice exclusively on family law. Located in Rochester, Minnesota, she provides assistance to clients throughout the area who are going through a divorce and having to deal with related issues such as custody and visitation, spousal and child support, and the division of complex assets. A forceful courtroom advocate, Ms. Frieders is also a trained mediator, and she often seeks to have her clients reach accords through the alternative dispute resolution method. She also has experience with paternity disputes. The quality of her work in these often-sensitive matters has earned Ms. Frieders an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo.
Ms. Frieders is an active participant in several professional organizations. A member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, she has also chaired the Family Law Section of the Olmsted County Bar Association. In addition, Ms. Frieders has served on the Third Judicial District Ethics Committee. Her pro bono activities include acting as a volunteer attorney for Legal Assistance of Olmsted County, of which she is a past chairman of the board of directors and a 2016 recipient of its Volunteer of the Year award.
Majoring in political science, Ms. Frieders attended Ball State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1981. She then enrolled at the University of Minnesota Law School and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1984. After graduation, Ms. Frieders was a law clerk with the Hennepin County District Court before entering private practice. She is admitted to practice in Minnesota and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
