Mug shots should not be public. I'm all for making them public for fugitives. But when someone is pending trial and not on the run, mug shots serve no other purpose than to pander to lurid curiosity.

It's always interesting in trial to learn how many people on the jury are there for their second or third time. Some of them have been on call for a week or two and are being questioned by their second set of lawyers.

This article takes an interesting look at the numbers. Basically, Minnesotans are much less likely to get called for jury service than people from other states. But if you do get called, you're more likely to end up sitting on a jury that hears a full case.

Minnesota’s jury summons rate is much lower than the national average. That might not be a bad thing, though.
