We were honored once again to receive the Legal Food Frenzy regional award for Feeding Southwest Virginia. Yugo Collins is proud to support this division of Feeding America that helps fight hunger in our area. Congratulations to Keith Faulkner and Appalachian School of Law, as well, for winning the Atty. General's Cup - Statewide! This was their second year in a row winning that award and Keith's 3rd in a row as dean (1st was with Liberty School of Law). The competition is fun, but the real winners are the families in this area who benefit from these important programs. Looking forward to defending our title in 2024 ....

HUGE WIN FOR VIRGINIA LANDOWNERS!!! Today, the U.S. Supreme Court granted our clients' petition for certiorari and remanded their case back to the D.C. Circuit Court for reconsideration in light of the Court's recent 9-0 opinion issued in Axon & Cochran. Given the Court only grants approximately 1% of cert petitions, this was a HUGE victory on the path toward declaring the eminent-domain-granting authority in the Natural Gas Act unconstitutional. For every new case we accept between today and the end of April 2023, we will donate $200 to Feeding SW Virginia. Last year, we won the Legal Food Frenzy award for our region. Help us defend our title and meet a desperate need in our area!

Today, our firm successfully settled a racial profiling case against a major national retailer. To its credit, the company acknowledged its employees acted inappropriately. Sadly, our client approached 7 other firms before finding us and NONE wanted his case. It makes you wonder how prevalent this practice really is and how much more successful our nation would be at eliminating this discrimination if we acknowledged it is still occurring in 2023.

GREAT NEWS! It appears SCOTUS has granted our motion to hold our clients' petition for certiorari in abeyance pending the release of cases that strongly support our position. This is outstanding news and signals that our clients may finally get their day in court!
