Our office recently led Operation Dark Web, an undercover operation targeting adults seeking to exploit minors online.

In partnership with local law enforcement and the FBI, investigators identified and arrested individuals who allegedly used online platforms to communicate with minors for sexual purposes.

As summer begins, we encourage families to talk with their children about online safety and remain engaged in their digital activities.

Leaving isn’t always a “just walk out” moment—sometimes it can feel impossible or even dangerous. 🟣💛

For many survivors, the biggest barriers aren’t a lack of willpower—they’re fear of retaliation, money being controlled, threats about kids or pets, nowhere safe to go, and the way isolation and manipulation can slowly erase your sense of options. Even after leaving, the risk can spike, which is why planning and support matter so much.

If you’ve ever wondered “Why do they stay?” try asking “What made leaving feel unsafe?”

What do you think would help someone feel safe enough to take the next step—without judgment? Share your thoughts, or pass this along to someone who needs a more compassionate perspective. 🕯️

The Ohio Senate declined to vote on a bill that would end child marriage, leaving a loophole that still allows 17-year-olds to wed. See link below ⬇️

We all have challenging people in our lives. People who do not see us for who we are, and people who, for whatever reason, would stand in the way of our potential. Some do it unconsciously because of their own unmet needs; some can seem downright mean.

Just because someone is unhappy, bitter, or cruel does not mean that you have to match that energy and thereby be pulled into their chaos. You have standards for what type of person you are and for how you choose to show up in life.

Call on the best within you, and put your energy into something you want to build, rather than something you are tempted to destroy. Feel what you feel, and then channel the energy of disappointment or hurt into something you can be proud of. Release the tether of toxic attachment.

In the words of Marcus Aurelius, “The best revenge is to be unlike the person who performed the injury.”

Freedom is choosing how YOU want to grow your life, rather than being imprisoned by reacting to someone else’s patterns.

Today, SB 341, a bill to raise the age of marriage in Ohio to the age of 18, passed unanimously out of the Senate Judiciary Committee!

We know that marriages that begin when one spouse is a child have an elevated risk for physical, sexual, emotional, and financial violence across the duration of their relationship. When the legislature returns in the fall, the bill will need to be voted on by the full Senate and then it will start its process in the House.
