We recently sued a breast surgeon named Sasa Espino for performing a medically unnecessary and irreversible mastectomy on a woman who did not have cancer, and then attempting to perform reconstructive surgery of her breasts with implants. This attempted reconstruction led to multiple major surgeries attempting to correct the initial errors. My client continues her fight to get better while now under the care of a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, but the outcome remains uncertain.

We also sued the hospital, Chippenham & Johnston-Willis Hospital, for giving this surgeon credentials to perform plastic and reconstructive surgery in their operating rooms when she was not a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

I reached out to a reporter because this story made me angrier than just about any case I’ve ever had, and I realized that my current client could not be the only person this happened to. Check out the story.

Update: looks like we were right about this being bigger than one case.
