After a very competitive weekend at the Central Islip ORCS, we’re proud of how well both our A and B teams competed and of how hard we worked to get here! This tournament we had not one but two Outstanding Opening Round Championship Witnesses: Makenna Fitzsimmons from 1669, and Aaqil Zakarya from 1668!! ⚖️ @ Suffolk County First District Court

Continuing our ORCS preparation and reflection on how we got here, our next feature is Richmond 1668. At the Washington, DC tournament, our A Team became Regional Champions, taking first place with a record of 7-1, and capturing a second bid for our program. Not only did Richmond 1668 take 1st, but we also had another All-Region attorney: our program’s president, Aquilla Maliyekkal. We’re looking forward to our prep this week and can’t wait to continue down the 😎🏆⚖️ @ Washington, District of Columbia

As RMT preps to send ~two~ teams to ORCS in Central Islip next weekend, we’re thinking about all the hard work our teams put into Regionals, starting with Richmond 1669 & 1670! At the Williamsburg Regional, our B team with a record of 6.5 wins took 3rd place, securing a bid; our C team also had a competitive record of 4-4. We additionally had 4 All-Region Attorneys and Witnesses: Alec Greven and Shruti Police from Richmond B, and Albert Wu and Magnolia Stuart from Richmond C. We’re so proud of our teams!! @ William & Mary

It is with heavy hearts that we offer our condolences to our friends at Patrick Henry College as they mourn the loss of Frank Guliuzza. Frank played a tremendous role in Patrick Henry’s Mock Trial Program, but more so he played a role in the lives of every American Mock Trial Association competitor. He gave his all making his teams, and the entire mock trial community, better competitors and better people and for that we honor him. Thank you, Frank for all that you did for us. You were a friend to everyone and will be sorely missed.

We’ve been super busy the past few weeks following Wake Forest’s Invitational, as we prepped to send our three mixed teams to two different tournaments - 1 to George Washington University’s invitational (Oct 21st-22nd), and 2 to William & Mary’s Colonial Classic this past weekend! Next up: University of Pennsylvania’s Quaker Classic ⚖️

This past weekend marked the kickoff of our program’s invitational season, having traveled to Wake Forest for the Demon Deacon tournament! We brought three mixed teams, one of which placed 1st and another with an honorable mention. RMT is also SO proud of the 5 members that won outstanding attorney or witness awards this weekend!! Richmond Mock had a blast at Spiderfest meeting the new Spiders and the class of 2022! We can’t wait to see some new faces at our info sessions starting this Monday, September 3rd at 6pm in Jepson 103! 🤩
