Richmond’s historic Armitage warehouse has had many uses since it was originally built over a century ago, from tar paper manufacturing to rubber roof coating, among many others. Now, KBJW is partnering with The Wilton Companies and 3North to transform the historic building into something completely new.

In the coming years, the former industrial building will be transformed into a mixed-use community with around 140 residential units, a fitness area, outdoor pool and a parking deck. The design team is using an adaptive reuse model that will keep the building’s historic integrity while repurposing the interior.

So far, our team has completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, as well as preliminary grading and site layout, among other services. There’s still plenty of work to be done, but we’re excited to be part of this transformative project!

Yesterday, members of our senior leadership team joined our Company President and CEO, Rich Johnson, for a special ceremony commemorating The Wilton Companies’ donation of 21 acres of land for the expansion of Tuckahoe Creek Park in Henrico County. We’re honored to support this meaningful project and proud to contribute to the preservation and enrichment of our community for generations to come.

Honoring the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought on D-Day, June 6, 1944, the day that marked the turning point in WWII. Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, beginning the liberation of Western Europe from N**i control. Today, 80 years later, we remember their courage and celebrate their legacy.
