Our Partner, Jillian Harlington, is speaking at the Tri-Cities Women in Business Conference on Tuesday, September 22 in Kennewick. Her session runs 3:15 to 4:15 in the afternoon block: Hey Girl, Am I Good? Financial Empowerment for the Wealth You Build, Protect, and Preserve.

Jillian brings the legal side to a panel with Shawn Murrow of Sagemoor Financial and Bonnie Walter of Northwest CPA Group PLLC , with Kim Burks moderating. Attorney, financial advisor, and CPA on one stage, so the questions about protecting what you have built should get answered from all three angles.

Details and tickets through the Tri-City Regional Chamber event page.

Our Partner, Bret Uhrich, was on The Byron Martin Show from Teknologize last week talking about AI and the law, and it is worth a listen if you have ever been tempted to ask a chatbot a legal question instead of a lawyer.

Some of the stories are hard to believe. Attorneys getting sanctioned because the cases in their briefs did not exist. A guy who asked ChatGPT how to cover up a crime and then found those chats in the evidence file. Someone who met with his lawyer, went home, pasted the advice into a chatbot to make sense of it, and gave up the privilege on that conversation in the process.

Bret's point through all of it: the tool is not the problem. Nobody checking the tool is the problem. Whatever you type into one of these things is not private, and it is not always right.

Byron and the Teknologize crew put together a good conversation. Watch it here:

Real people. Real stories. Honest conversations about life, leaders...
