In 2018, my parents, my sister, and friends lost their homes to the Camp Fire that destroyed the town I grew up in. Watching the fast moving Bug Fire and Hawk Fire threaten the homes of so many of my friends here in Northern Nevada was just gut wrenching.

Today, with the last of the evacuations lifted, there are 47 families that no longer have a home to go back to.

I’m so heartbroken for them. Every one of these homes had a story, much like the ones I share on my page. Whether it was your first home or last home, this kind of loss is not easy to recover from.

I can say from first-hand experience that trying to replace everything can be really overwhelming. Like you don’t even realize what you don’t have until you need it. If you can find it in your heart to donate something to one of the many drives around town, it will make a difference for someone. Even donating your time makes a difference.

A little kindness can go a long way. ❤️
