I love being a lawyer. In this regard, I’m proud of my advocacy on all my cases; but without question, some cases are more dear to my heart than others. Towards this end, I just received the NYS appeal decision on “Hunters for Deer v. The Town of Smithtown”. We won. We have now left an indelible mark on the preservation of hunting and the preservation of property rights on Long Island and beyond. This is the biggest pro-hunting judicial decision ever. Indeed, as of today, any Town or Village municipality attempting to regulate bow hunting beyond DEC regulation is presumptively invalid. I would like to thank my “partners in crime” - HFD; Michael Tessitore; John Armentano; Mike Lewis; Andrea Siciliano and Gary Kalbaugh. I’m overwhelmed with joy and pride right now. Congratulations to us and to all hunters. Amazing.
