FYI: If you drive 30 mph over the speed limit, you can do 60 days in jail now for Reckless Driving!! Thankfully lady justice was able to convince the state to dismiss the reckless citation, and allow my client to pay out a non jailable traffic citation today!

Just finished an all day Juvenile Docket in Howard County Circuit Court, after being given all 12 files yesterday lol. I absolutely love handling juvenile cases!! A lot of work, but so much support for rehabilitation. I wish all courts could be run the same way!

It is an absolutely beautiful fall day in Howard County!! I helped a wonderful client today, who worked so hard to turn their life around. After violating two cases they were on probation for, by getting convicted of a third criminal offense, we were able to get them continued on probation with no jail time! Excellent result for a very deserving client ❤️

From Carroll County in the morning to Howard County in the afternoon, lady justice was working!!

This afternoon was bittersweet, I handled a panel docket in Howard County for the Office of the Public Defender, and everything went well with all the cases. In the last 6 months I've taken on a fair amount of panel dockets, and I've really enjoyed it. This experience has given me a whole new level of appreciation for our Public Defender warriors. They fight so hard for their clients!! It was so wonderful to be in the office with them, working on cases, they accepted me as one of their own and I was so honored to be part of the team, even for a short time. Unfortunately, it looks like there may be some shortages of funding for panel attorneys, so I may not be back for awhile, and I am going to miss it!! Until next time Howard County 🫶
