Proposed laws in Illinois and Washington aim to protect 'kidfluencers' by requiring vloggers to set aside a portion of earnings from content featuring minors in a trust until they turn 18. Minors could also request deletion of videos featuring them. California already has strong child entertainment laws but not for social media.

My client wanted justice and he got it. After a grueling week of trial, he beat all of the charges! The jury acquitted him in 5 out of 6 counts and the prosecution dismissed the one remaining charge (after 11 jurors voted Not Guilty but couldn’t reach a consensus on that one last count). Following a rainy and gloomy week, the sun is shining strong again today at the Hall of Justice.

Trial this week was a success! Jury came back 11-1 for Not Guilty so the DA dismissed the case and my client was happy. Afterward, it was uplifting to hear two of the jurors, both of whom had recently become US citizens, say how proud they were to be American, that the process was dignified and in stark contrast to their former countries. It was a great moment.
