PREVAILED AGAINST THE DMV, on behalf of a Class A truck driver. California Highway Patrol is cracking down on non-English speaking truck drivers. My client, a non-English speaker was arrested for resisting arrest and taken in on a 5150 hold. We investigated, prepared for our hearing and were successful in rebutting all allegations of the CHP.

Yesterday, I spent the morning meeting with a new client at The California Rehabilitation Center at Norco. In the forefront is an abandoned building from the Naval Warfare Center adjacent to the prison. I know there may be differing opinions, but I always have a sense of inhumanity when visiting prisons.

We prevailed today at the Torrance Superior Court at trial in defending against a Domestic Violence Restraining Order and simultaneously prevailed in obtaining a Domestic Violence Restraining Order against the individual who originally filed. This case was all hands-on deck, thanks to our investigator, paralegal, transcriber, and most of all my client. This trial was a feat in organization and presentation of exhibits, transcriptions, audio recordings and video. After the morning break, I was winded; but a BOARD N BREW Cesar Salad and diet coke put the wind back in my sails.

MOTION GRANTED! Client was alleged to have led CHP and Sheriff helicopters on a 170mph pursuit on the 60 Freeway. Client was charged with Felony Evasion at the Pomona Superior Court, in November 2023 I filed a Mental Health Diversion Motion. Today after months of litigation, the judge granted our motion, and suspended criminal proceedings against my Client. Upon successful completion of therapy, the felony case will be dismissed. CAN A VIOLATION OF A RESTRAINING ORDER RESULT IN DEPORTATION? In July of 2023 a temporary domestic violence restraining order issued against my client, a non-US citizen for acts of violence. After months of litigation, the restraining order was dismissed this afternoon at the Torrance Courthouse. Had a permanent order issued, any subsequent violation of the order could result in deportation, according to "classes of deportable aliens" 8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(2)(E)(ii).
