Another good article on how to prepare for divorce. In my view, though, the first step is to make sure that you want a divorce. It is a serious decision that should not be taken lightly. Once you start the process of divorce, your relationship with your spouse is not going to get better. It means that you (1) need to be sure that you want the divorce and (2) are emotionally ready for it.

The article gives good tips for co-parenting after divorce is finalized. The only thing that I disagree with is a recommendation to always drop off the child after time with the parent. From experience of my clients, it is easier to get a child ready when the other parent arrives. And if the other parent is late for any reason, it is preferable to wait at home then in a car in front of the other parent's house.

Co-parenting is rarely easy, but with these tips you can remain calm, stay consistent, and avoid conflict with your ex to make joint custody work.

Summer breaks create additional challenges for divorced parents.
