Every adult should have a will, an advance health care directive (sometimes called a “living will”) and a special power of attorney (for finances). A WILL directs the Probate Court as to how you want your assets distributed. A TRUST transfers title to assets without need of a court order. Which one is right for you??

Today's tip: In your estate documents, be sure to note who the beneficiaries are on your life insurance policies. If your survivors do not know who the beneficiary is, the company will not tell them, and the benefit might not be paid out. Put all insurance information with your estate documents.
