THE ARMOR OF GOD IS HEAVY… BUT SO IS THE BATTLE YOU'RE FIGHTING!

Ladies, if you're preparing for a legal battle against an abusive or controlling spouse, you already know this isn't just about paperwork and court dates. It's about protecting your children, standing in the truth, and finding the courage to keep going when you're exhausted.

But here's what I want you to remember:

God never called you to walk into battle unprepared.

Ephesians 6:11 reminds us to “Put on the whole armor of God.” (ESV)

That's why I created LIVE FREE LEGAL.

As a family law attorney and survivor, I know how frightening it can be to face an abuser in court. My mission is to help women become informed, prepared, and empowered to advocate for themselves and their children.

Through Live Free Legal, we combine FAITH, LEGAL EDUCATION, and PRACTICAL STRATEGIES to help you prepare for the battles ahead.

You don't have to know everything about the legal system. But you CAN learn how to prepare, document, organize your evidence, and recognize the tactics used against you.

Don't just prepare for court. Put on the FULL ARMOR OF GOD and prepare with purpose!

Reminder! Thursday, October 15th is WEAR PURPLE DAY in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Wear purple tomorrow to show your support for victims and survivors of abuse and coercive control and draw awareness to this pervasive and destructive problem that many times goes hidden but creates huge community problems like addiction, mental health issues, dysfunctional relationships, perpetuates the cycle of abuse and even impacts the criminal justice system with an increase in crime. LOVE SHOULD NEVER HURT!

💜 More than 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men in the U.S. have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime.

💜 Nearly 43.5 million women and 20.7 million men have experienced these forms of intimate partner violence.

💜 Nearly 1 in 3 women have experienced psychological aggression by an intimate partner, including coercive control.

💜 An estimated 6.7 million women and 2.8 million men experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in a single year.

These are not just numbers. These are real people, real families, and real lives forever changed by abuse.

💜 TO EVERY SURVIVOR: YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Abuse is never your fault. You deserve safety, support, healing, and the opportunity to reclaim your voice, your peace, and your power.

At Live Free Legal, we understand that leaving an abusive relationship does not always mean the abuse ends. Navigating divorce, custody, and co-parenting can bring new challenges.

That's why we created EmpowerHER, a supportive community for women navigating life after abuse.

If you are in an abusive relationship, please hear this: God does not expect you to sacrifice your safety, your peace, or your well-being to prove your love for someone else.

You can love God and still walk away from abuse.

You can forgive someone without allowing them to hurt you again.

You can believe in the sanctity of marriage while recognizing that abuse is not love.

And you can trust God while taking steps to protect yourself and your children.

You were created to live with dignity, not in constant fear.

If you are struggling to find your way forward, remember that God sees your pain, hears your prayers, and walks beside you through every step of your healing journey.

You are not alone. Your story is not over. There is hope beyond the hurt. 🤍

💜 EmpowerHER is Live Free Legal's membership for domestic violence survivors, offering support, resources, and a community that understands.

💜 Next Week, We Wear Purple. Will You Join Us? 💜

As Wear Purple Day approaches, Live Free Legal is preparing to stand together in support of survivors of domestic violence.

Wearing purple is a simple but powerful way to raise awareness, show solidarity, and remind survivors that they are seen, they are heard, and they are not alone.

Next week, we invite you to wear purple, start conversations, share resources, and help us shine a light on the importance of safety, support, and freedom from abuse.

💜 Wear purple. Raise awareness. Stand with survivors.

🕯️ A NIGHT TO REMEMBER. A NIGHT TO HONOR. A NIGHT OF HOPE.

On Sunday, October 25, from 8:00–9:00 PM EDT, Called to Peace Ministries invites you to join us virtually for a special Domestic Violence Awareness Month Candlelight Vigil—an evening of remembrance, solidarity, truth, and hope.

Throughout the evening, we’ll hear powerful messages from voices committed to bringing hope, healing, awareness, and meaningful change:

💜 Nicole C. Mullen will share a message of hope beyond what has happened, reminding survivors that their story does not end with what they have endured.

💜 Chris Moles will challenge us to consider our role in responding to domestic abuse and how churches and communities can become part of meaningful change.

💜 Hope Hooten will speak about what happens when abuse reaches the next generation, drawing attention to its impact on children and families—and why our response matters.

💜 Joy Forrest, founder of Called to Peace Ministries, will offer biblical hope and encouragement, reminding survivors of God’s heart for the oppressed and the possibility of healing even after tremendous loss.

💜 Tiffany Lesnik, attorney, will offer hope and encouragement to survivors and families navigating incredibly difficult circumstances.

We’ll also hear a powerful survivor story illustrating the difference it can make when a church is equipped to recognize abuse and respond with wisdom, compassion, and care.

Then, together, we’ll light candles and pause to honor survivors, remember lives lost to domestic violence, and stand in solidarity with those whose lives have been forever impacted. This is more than raising awareness. It is a night to remember and honor, to stand with survivors, and to shine a light on the hope and healing that can change generations.

🕯️ Virtual Candlelight Vigil

💜 I’M GOING LIVE TODAY AT 10:00 AM!

Have you ever thought, “I think I’m being abused…but I’m not sure. What do I do next?”

Maybe he’s never hit you. Maybe there are good days. Maybe he apologizes and promises to change. But you’re walking on eggshells, afraid of his reactions, questioning yourself, and constantly changing your behavior just to keep the peace.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you ask for help.

This morning, I’m joining Pastor Neil Schori, therapist Tabitha Westbrook, and Lauren Rose from Called to Peace Ministries for an important conversation about recognizing abuse and figuring out what comes next.

We’ll talk about safety, children, legal options, finding the right support and what you can do even if you are not ready to leave or file for divorce.

And if you’re a friend, family member, pastor, counselor, or church leader, this conversation is for you too. How you respond when a woman finally says, “I need help,” matters.

💜 LIVE TODAY — 10:00 AM
