No one likes thinking about dying, so they often ignore their estate planning, like having or updating their Will. This is posted with permission from a friend who asked me to share it as a warning and because she is "hopeful it will do some good":

A middle-aged man died last month without a Will. He's been divorced twice since his first Will was created and each Will was destroyed with the thought that "eventually" he would get around to making another Will.

He passed away suddenly owning several properties and a business. Despite having a large family and close siblings, his sole heir according to the laws of North Carolina is his only child; a child who he was estranged from for more than a decade. His child and the child's mother now have the unenviable and unexpected task of trying to find, inventory, and dispose of his estate through Probate Court all while reliving and recounting memories of the past and what has transpired since.

Many times "I'll do it tomorrow" doesn't come and "eventually" is too late. Don't wait until it is too late or your family could be in a similar and unenviable situation.

Our plug: Call us today if you haven't updated your Will and especially if you don't have a Will.

Call now to connect with business.
