Just wanted to let all of you know that the Law School Fair will be November 7th from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Talley State Ballroom with several workshops before. If you're considering going to law school, please come to this event. I am sure you will benefit from it. Here's the schedule for the workshops before the fair:

12-1 p.m. in Talley 3285 - Developing Your Personal Statement

1-2 p.m. in Talley 3285 - LSAT 101

2-3 in Talley 3285 - How Law Schools Evaluate Applications

A friend of mine is holding a 30 minute focus group at 6:30 TONIGHT for a marketing research project. It pertains to potential law students (the client is a former attorney who holds seminar courses) and how social networks and mobile-friendliness of websites affect how you perceive companies and brands. It'll be from 6:30-7 in DH Hill Library (room A, 7th floor).

6:30-7:30PM in Talley 3285

We will have law school admissions representatives from Wake Forest, SMU, Arizona, and Tennessee. The panel will discuss how admissions counselors review files, and how they make admissions decisions. In addition, we will be reviewing faux files to learn the Do’s and Don’ts of law school applications. We will also have a NACHO BAR for the event.

6:00-7:30PM in Carmichael Recreation Center – Playzone 1601

Alan Woodlief, Senior Associate Dean for Admissions, and Scott Ga***rd, a professor of law at Elon will be hosting a Logic Games Preparation Workshop. Learn the basics of what to expect on the LSAT, what the logic games section consists of, and strategies to improve on answering all of the questions on this section. We will also have PIZZA delivered for the event!

The bus will pick up outside of Pullen Hall at 11AM. We should be back around 2:30PM. Bring lunch, because last year we did not have time to go eat.

February 20th: What to Expect During Your First Year of Law School

Feeling nervous about applying to law school? Do you have questions about what to expect? Most students have unanswered questions. On Monday, February 20th Ms. Susan Patrick, Esq will be on campus to conduct a workshop to help answer your questions. During the workshop “What to Expect During Your First Year of Law School” Ms. Patrick will provide several basic principles that will help you succeed during your first year of law school.
Ms. Patrick is a graduate of Liberty University where she earned her J.D. She currently serves as the Director of the Center for Legal Writing at Liberty University School of Law. In addition, she is a proud alumna of Marshall University, and a member of the Virginia Bar.

March 24th: Law School Tour of Wake Forest

We have a tour scheduled at UNC on January 27th! We have a bus to take us, and we will meet outside of the Career Development Center (Pullen Hall) at 11am. We will be back around 2:30pm, depending on how long the Q&A session goes at the end of the tour. Please bring a snack or lunch, because last year we did not have a break to eat. Hey Y'all! This is Kara Powell, the PLSA President.
I wanted to send a quick update before the new semester starts. For those of you new to PLSA, dues to join PLSA are $20 (which includes this year's t-shirt). If you are a senior, you have the option to pay $25 and receive a cord for graduation, as well.

My office hours (in the Career Development Center - 2100 Pullen Hall) for the Spring semester are:
Monday: 3-5
Tuesday: 12-5
Thursday: 12-5

Drop in for questions, or to pay dues! You can also make an appointment with me over email, to make sure you won't have to wait.

I just picked up many of our t-shirts in more Mediums and Larges! If I owe you a shirt or if you still haven't paid your dues, we have all the sizes in! Please stop by during my office hours in the Career Development Center (2100 Pullen Hall) on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 3-5 to pay your dues and pick up your t-shirt and/or cord.
