You may know about the FlatIron building in NYC, but did you know that Paris has 13 of them? Check this pic out....
Place Cambronne in the 15th arrondissement is best known for one of Paris’ 13 iconic flatiron buildings. Shaped by the angle of the streets, these triangular buildings are a rare sight in the city and always catch the eye. The one at Place Cambronne stands at the meeting point of Boulevard Garibaldi and Rue Alexandre Cabanel, giving it the sharp wedge shape that makes it look almost unreal from certain angles.
The square itself is named after General Pierre Cambronne, a hero of the Napoleonic Wars, and today it is a busy corner of the Left Bank with cafés and brasseries lining the streets. The flatiron is easy to spot if you are heading toward the École Militaire or strolling down Boulevard Garibaldi.
Flatirons are scattered across Paris but only a handful are considered iconic. The one at Place Cambronne is worth pausing for a photo, especially when the light hits its narrow façade in the evening.
