Today marks the end of an incredible chapter. After 48.8 years at the same job site, my father-in-law, Lyle “Arvy” is officially retired. What a legacy. He saw the company change from PPG, to Axiall, and finally to Westlake, and through every change he showed up, worked hard, and provided for his family without fail.

That kind of loyalty, dedication, and work ethic is rare these days. Nearly five decades with one company says a whole lot about the man he is. Because of the sacrifices he made all those years, his family, including my husband, was well provided for and deeply loved.

Mr. Arvy, congratulations on a well-earned retirement. You’ve earned every bit of this next season of life, and we are so proud of you.

Now… let’s just see how long you really stay retired 😉Arvy Ross

Welcome to Carol’s Supermarket, the very first gas station travelers see when entering Oberlin from LA-26. A true community landmark, this turnkey gas station and convenience store sits on a highly visible corner lot with exceptional traffic flow — the kind of location investors dream of. Featuring 4 pumps, 3 underground tanks (two regular and one supreme, each 6,000 gallons), and a spacious 4,500 sq. ft. building, the property is loaded with possibilities. Inside, you’ll find a commercial kitchen, a 12’ x 14’ meat cooler, tons of storage, and an open retail floor plan — perfect for adding new revenue streams. Already averaging approximately $39,000 in monthly sales, this property is profitable today with massive upside tomorrow. Add a restaurant, butcher shop, laundromat, or other in-demand services and watch it grow. The sale includes all equipment, fixtures, and improvements needed to keep the doors open and the pumps running. Inventory negotiable. Seller is willing to transfer operational licenses (fuel, liquor, lottery, to***co, etc.) to ensure a smooth transition and instant income for the new owner.

Buying a home is exciting, but it’s also a big decision.

Before you fall in love with the kitchen, the floors, or the backyard, take a step back and ask yourself a few practical questions.

> Can the payment fit your real life?
> Does the location work for your daily routine?
> Will the home still make sense for you a few years from now?

A pretty house is wonderful, but the right house should fit your budget, your lifestyle, and your future plans.
If you’re thinking about buying in Southwest Louisiana, I’d be happy to help you walk through the process with clarity.

Buying or selling a home can feel like an emotional roller coaster. One moment you’re excited, then uncertain, then hopeful, then discouraged, and finally relieved.

The truth is, real estate is not always a straight line. Deals can shift, offers can change, and timelines do not always go as planned. That is normal.

What matters most is having someone by your side who can help you stay grounded, focused, and moving forward. I’ll do my best to help keep the emotions in line so you can make confident decisions every step of the way.

If you’re thinking about selling your home, I’d love to help.

Take a few minutes to walk around your home and check your windows and doors.

Look for worn weatherstripping, small gaps, or places where doors and windows may not be sealing properly. When cool air slips out, your HVAC system has to work harder than it should to keep your home comfortable.

This time of year is a great time to handle those small fixes before the summer heat really settles in. Replacing weatherstripping or addressing air leaks now can help improve comfort, support energy efficiency, and possibly save money later.

Sometimes the little things make a big difference in how your home feels day to day.

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me.

April is a great time to check your outdoor HVAC unit and make sure nothing is blocking its airflow.

Weeds, dirt, leaves, and other debris can build up around the unit over time, especially after winter. Your system needs space to breathe and pull air properly. When airflow is blocked, your unit has to work harder than it should.

A quick cleanup around the outside unit can help your system run more efficiently and may help prevent unnecessary wear as we head into the warmer spring and summer months.

Small seasonal maintenance steps like this can go a long way in protecting your home and your HVAC system.

This is such a good reminder for anybody in the home buying process.

Once you have applied and been approved for a loan, try your best to keep everything the same. Do not change your job, income, or credit. Do not go buy furniture or a new car. And do not spend the money you have set aside for closing.

If something does change, please do not keep it to yourself. Keep your lender and your real estate agent informed. It is always better to let us know sooner rather than later so we can help protect your deal.

Buying a home is exciting, and staying the course helps get you all the way to the closing table.

Spring is a great time to trim shrubs and tidy up the landscaping around your home. Leaving a little space between plants and the house helps reduce trapped moisture, protects the exterior and slab, and lets the home breathe a little better. It is also one of those simple things that make a house look fresh, neat, and well cared for. Small maintenance steps like this can make a big difference over time.

Spring is a great time to check your outdoor spigots and water hoses for leaks or drips after the winter season.

If hoses have been rolled up for months, or outdoor spigots were covered during cold weather, now is the perfect time to give everything a quick look before spring and summer use picks up.

A small leak may not seem like much, but over time, it can waste water, create wet areas around your home, and lead to bigger maintenance issues. A simple check now can help keep things working the way they should.

Little home maintenance steps like this can save time, money, and headaches later.
