Beginning September 12, we are required by law to collect the signer’s right thumb print in our journals for the following documents:
- Deeds (quitclaim, warranty, beneficiary)
- Deeds of Trust
- ALL documents affecting real property
- Powers of Attorney
This new requirement stems from the passage of Arizona Senate Bill 1479, which was enacted to help deter fraud.
Thumbprints will be collected using an inkless fingerprint pad, which will not stain the skin.
Please ensure your notary follows the law, which was passed to protect YOU.
