Dear friends, colleagues, and supporters of those in need,

We at the Law Office of Claudia Gregoire are terribly sad and grieving. A few days before Christmas, two children, Ashley and Allison Sandoval, aged 7 and 2, perished in a raging house fire in Providence which took nearly 60 firefighters to put out. Both girls have now passed away. Their mother - who raised them on her own and brought them to the U.S. two years ago for a better life - is experiencing unimaginable grief. She also needs help to replace the material possessions lost in the blaze.

Beginning today, Law Office of Claudia Gregoire will daily donate 1% of all revenue to RI charities providing food and necessities to the needy during this crisis, including RI Food Bank, Refugee Dream Center and the Salvation Army, and others. If you have suggestions for organizations who will help undocumented people unable to receive unemployment, please let me know so we can donate to those groups. Thank you!

In a very happy surprise, our law firm won asylum for a woman from Latin America. A victim of domestic violence for many years, she filed her request for asylum late. But we were able to persuade the officer to excuse the late filing based on the client's severe trauma. The officer agreed that her abuser would likely harm her if she returned home. Can't think of anyone more deserving.

Our law firm's 2nd clients won asylum! Any asylum victory these days is one to be celebrated.

I could not think of a more deserving family. Persecuted ruthlessly in Turkey, the family's life was turned upside down -- Now, bit by bit, with the help of asylee status - then green cards - hopefully, they can begin to put their lives back together.

IMPORTANT NEWS! USCIS is now accepting DACA renewal applications again. If you previously received DACA and your DACA expired on or after Sept. 5, 2016, you may still file your DACA request as a renewal request. No initial requests allowed and no applications for advance parole.
