Workers’ Comp Jury Verdict: $365,0000, Baltimore City Circuit Court

We received a jury verdict yesterday resulting in a $365,000 total award for a client who suffered a back injury while lifting furniture on the job and rupturing a disc. His injury resulted in two back surgeries, where he ultimately underwent a fusion to repair the disc.

Prior to hiring us, he had another firm representing him for this injury, who attempted to coerce him into accepting a $60,000 settlement. Jury Verdict: $350,000.00. Workers Compensation Case. Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Poe Law is happy to announce a verdict in a worker’s compensation case today in the amount of $350,000.00. The case involved a Prince George’s County Firefighter who suffered a back injury during training activities, which resulted in a bulging disc in the lower back. The firefighter was successfully able to return to full duty after completing a couple months of physical therapy to strengthen his lower back.

Trial Verdict: $800,000.00

Mr. Poe received a jury verdict last Friday afternoon in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County in the amount of $800,000.00. The case involved an off-duty firefighter who suffered back injuries from a car collision
on the beltway, resulting in a herniated disc
in his back. The insurance company disputed the injuries, alleging they were all pre-existing. The jury deliberated for approximately 2 hours before returning their verdict. Congratulations to Mr. Poe and his client on a great outcome!
