We got caught up in all of the celebration and forgot to share the news with the world. If you have been in our office over the last few months, you've seen a new face around. Now that it is official, we are thrilled to officially welcome Caden Pierce, Esq. to McDowell, Faulk & Shirley as our newest associate attorney

Caden passed the Alabama Bar on September 25, 2026, marking an exciting milestone in his legal career. Here is a picture of Caden and his lovely wife Chloe shortly after he found out the good news. We are proud to have him as part of our firm and look forward to all that he will accomplish as he begins serving our clients and community in this new role. He's been working as a law clerk since August, so he has already hit the ground running.

You know we love closings. This one was a little tricky, navigating some legal issues, but we were able to get it closed. I’ve known this family for about a decade, so honored to play a part in them growing into their new home. Not pictured is a whole pile of kids they didn’t bring to closing!

Kyle got to take a field trip to Birmingham on Wednesday. One thing most people don’t know is that he serves as local counsel for Alabama Power in our area. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to gather with local counsel from around the state and numerous leaders from the power company to discuss the issues that impact us all.

A great start to the morning is seeing a beautiful family getting the keys to their first home. Closings are always special because of the personal side of things, but closings like this are extra special. Thanks to April Crawford, Realtor; Real Broker, LLC and Janet Prestwood for bringing us an easy to close transaction. Beverly Pynes Grant did a great job for the sellers and we were able to smoothly and seamlessly get this one across the line. Looking forward to this wonderful family raising their family in their new home.
