My darling friend and I have gone on a couple of Habitat Garden Tours hosted by They organize a monthly tour of a few gardens near one another with inspirational examples incorporating native plants and creating habitats. It’s been fun to get a peek inside some of these secret gardens. 🌸🌱🦋💚✨

Deep Roots also hosts guided naturalist walks, native plant sales, and offer consultations for your own landscape. Their website has tons of great info if you’re curious about native plants.
‌
It’s easy to start incorporating pollinators into your yard. Native Butterfly milkweed as a host to monarchs is a great place to start. Echinacea and Coreopsis are lovely and easy additions too. 🌼
‌
Native landscapes:
🌻require less water
🌻create ecosystems to support wildlife (we NEED bees! 🐝)
🌻build healthy soil
🌻require less fossil fuel to maintain
🌻help clean the air in cities
‌
and
Soil Service have good native plant selections locally.

and are treasure troves if you’re looking for seeds.

We shipped the baby birdy off to Italy to study for the summer! He’s in a Landscape Architecture program and gets to study an architectural epicenter, observe piazzas in action and swim in the birthplace of the Renaissance. I’m so freaking excited for him.

This lady knew what she wanted and where she wants to be. It’s a hot neighborhood but there’s always a way. We had fun hunting and strategizing. And just like that she’s a homeowner! 🙌 thanks for being a dream client.

I know exactly how lucky I am to call my clients friends. My clients and friends who referred a client to me are picking up cakes and pies from today. 😍 I never take it for granted that I get to spend my days working with some of the coolest humans in town. There will always be stressful moments in a real estate transaction but I’m grateful to work with people who know how to breathe, communicate, roll with reality, and find the appropriate meme + silver lining. 😀⚡️

I’ve been waiting for these water bottle refill stations for 20+ years. 🙌

The new airport has gotten tons of love for the public art. Rightfully so! There’s so much thoughtfully curated beauty. The space is gorgeous and inspiring.
‌
But can we talk about the giant sustainability leaps we just took? KCI’s new terminal is only the second in the country to achieve LEED Gold certification. That’s a BFD, y’all! 👏
‌
Some of the sustainability achievements include:
‌
💚 more than 98% of materials from demolition of the old terminal + parking garage were recycled or salvaged on-site
‌
💚 integrated native and drought tolerant plants with an efficient irrigation system to cut water consumption by 50%
‌
💚 1st US airport to utilize wireless electric bus charging pads which allow their electric fleet to charge while loading and unloading passengers 🤯
‌
💚 terminal and garage use 100% renewable energy with a combo of on-site solar panels and Evergy’s Renewables Direct program
‌
💚 healthy building materials were chosen based on emissions
‌
The city of KCMO has a goal of becoming climate neutral by 2040 and is among the top 10 cities in the US for reducing our carbon footprint. They’re also on the verge of approving a plan for one of the largest solar array projects in the country with the potential to power 70,000 homes. This kind of intentional planning, leadership and momentum give me hope.

Solar, Baby!! 🌞🙌✨

These sweethearts scored such a great house. It ticked all the boxes AND it has solar panels! While most of KC is about to see a price increase for electricity, they’re holding steady with a pretty nominal electric bill for the next 20 yrs.
‌
It’s always fun to get clients across the finish line but I do miss getting to see my people and texting 108x/day. 😆 Is it rude to preemptively invite myself to the Chiefs Super Bowl watch party in their sweet, Solar-powered media room?! 😍
