You honestly can't make these connections up. A while back, I helped a client buy a home all the way from Africa. Fast forward to recently: their coworker, Ashley, was at work talking about relocating to the area and needing a real estate agent to buy a home in Bremerton, WA. Our past client gave us a glowing review, Ashley reached out to us, and the hunt was on!
Ashley, Peter, and their legendarily named cat, Benicio Del Toro, were ready for a new chapter. Since it was Ashley (and Benicio’s) first time navigating the Washington state home buying process, we guided them through every step and got them pre-approved with the amazing Kelsey Brahl at Academy Mortgage.
They started touring Bremerton homes for sale right away with the always wonderful Shelly King and found a place that checked most boxes. We wrote an under-asking offer and got it accepted!
But thank goodness for due diligence. Leon Griffin with Old Goat Inspections and the crew at The Sewer Inspectoruncovered some massive hidden issues: a $28K electrical hazard and a $30K collapsed sewer line. We tried to negotiate a major price cut, but the seller wouldn't budge, so we walked away.
It was a huge bump in the road, But good thing we live by our motto "Don’t fall in love, fall in like" we kept our chins up and went back to hunting for the real jewel. And man, did we find it!
We found this gorgeous water-view property in Bremerton that was 60 years newer than the first house. The negotiation was a massive win: originally listed at $549K, we secured it for $510K!
After a completely successful inspection, we closed without a hitch. Now, Peter gets to watch the sunset over the water and live his "old man days" in his 40s, Benicio has room to run, and Ashley has her dream garden space and a much shorter commute.
First-time buyer or relocating from afar? Don't risk a money pit. Let’s find a home you love with the protection you deserve.
